Job summary

The Department of Transportation in New York City seeks two Senior Project Coordinators to support the design and development of bicycle infrastructure projects across all five boroughs. You will collaborate with engineers and planners to deliver construction-ready street designs and ensure multimodal safety and efficiency.

You will lead a team, review junior staff work, and coordinate with Geometric Design, Borough Engineering, and Traffic Signals to apply best practices and emerging designs

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelors in engineering/related field as specified.
• Minimum years of experience as described in minimum qualifications.
• Ability to develop construction-ready civil engineering designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design street layouts balancing bicycle facilities, pedestrians, and traffic calming.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings showing lane configurations, curb alignments, and cross-sections.
• Review Synchro models for capacity, delay, and level of service for multimodal streets.
• Coordinate with DOT divisions to ensure design consistency and best practices.
• Conduct site visits and prepare design presentations for stakeholders.
