Job summary

The City of New York is hiring Project Coordinators in the Cycling & Micromobility Unit to advance capital bicycle and micromobility projects across New York City. You will work with planners, engineers, and designers to ensure high-quality cycling infrastructure is integrated during concept through implementation.

Under supervision of senior staff, you will manage scope, schedule, budget, and consultant oversight, while preparing reports, briefs, and grant applications.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with two years of satisfactory full-time city planning experience or an equivalent combination.
• Graduate education may substitute for some experience per policy, but a baccalaureate degree is required.
• Residency in NYC within 90 days of appointment is generally required.
• Assignment Level III/IV eligibility requires additional years of professional experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cycling & Micromobility capital projects through planning, design, and implementation, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with planners, engineers, architects, and consultants to incorporate cycling facilities into capital projects.
• Identify and develop new capital bicycle/micromobility opportunities and review transportation project plans.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and correspondence to support project development and funding requests.
• Track project milestones and follow-up actions across multiple concurrent projects.
