Job summary

PEARCE Renewables is seeking an Advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician to perform O&M on BESS equipment across commercial and industrial solar projects in the United States. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of New Haven, CT and be comfortable with field work and safety-driven tasks.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, LOTO, JHAs, and collaborating with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

2-4+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is required.
2-4+ years of Renewable energy experience is preferred.
A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
Post-secondary education is preferred.
Electrical certifications are preferred such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E.
Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements is required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
