Job summary

Renewable Energy Partners is seeking a Solar & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) O&M Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and performance optimization of commercial and industrial solar PV and energy storage assets.

The technician will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose electrical and controls issues, assist with commissioning, and ensure safe, reliable operation across field sites in California.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in solar PV, electrical, industrial maintenance, energy storage, or related field.
Experience troubleshooting commercial or industrial 208V and 480V three-phase electrical systems.
Strong understanding of electrical distribution equipment including breakers, disconnects, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
Familiarity with solar inverters, PV systems, monitoring systems, and BESS/EMS/PCS is preferred.
Ability to safely use electrical test equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers).

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on solar PV systems and BESS assets.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues; document results.
Assist with inverter replacements, commissioning, and system restoration.
Monitor alarms, fault conditions, SOC, and overall performance.
Coordinate with manufacturers for support and RMAs.
Complete detailed service reports, work orders, and photo documentation.
Travel to project sites as required.
