Job summary

AES is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer – Systems Integration to own how BESS subsystems come together in diverse field environments, ensuring safe, reliable operation. The role supports prototype builds, testing, and production transition while coordinating across OEMs and project teams.

Open to U.S. remote-based candidates, with travel to factories and project sites about a quarter of the time. A strong background in electrical systems, energy storage, and safety compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5–7 years in BESS or complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with UL 9540/9540A and NFPA codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end systems engineering for BESS products from requirements through deployment.
• Develop system‑level requirements, ICDs, specs, and compliance matrices.
• Integrate subsystems including energy storage, PCS, safety, controls, and comms.
• Review BESS electrical/controls designs, schematics, BOMs, and integration docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in integration practices.
• Serve as technical authority for BESS architecture in utility projects.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical/controls issues on deployed assets.
• Participate in permitting discussions and risk management for long‑term performance.
