The AES Corporation, the largest US-based global power company, seeks a Senior Solutions Engineer – Systems Integration to lead BESS subsystem integration and system validation in diverse project environments. We value safety, reliability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Open to US-based remote candidates, with ~25% travel to factories and sites. You will mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement in BESS integration practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in BESS or complex electromechanical system development and integration.
• Strong experience with electrical systems, energy storage, controls, and power electronics.
• Experience working across multiple OEMs and integrators.
• Familiarity with BESS standards such as UL 9540/9540A and applicable electrical codes.
• Experience with BESS safety standards and compliance, including NFPA 855, NFPA 110/111, NFPA 72, NFPA 68/69. Travel ≈25%.

Responsabilités

• Lead end‑to‑end systems engineering for BESS products from requirements through deployment and operation.
• Develop and maintain system‑level requirements, ICDs, specifications, and compliance matrices.
• Integrate subsystems including energy storage, PCS, safety, controls, and communications.
• Review and approve BESS electrical and controls designs, including schematics and BOMs.
• Interpret and apply BESS safety codes and standards (UL, IEC, NFPA, IFC).
• Support prototype builds, certification testing, and production transition with validation plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in BESS integration practices.
