Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solutions Engineer - Systems Integration to advance battery energy storage systems for utility-scale projects. You will collaborate with senior engineers to develop interfaces, verify safety, and ensure reliable operation across project environments.

You will contribute to requirements, ICDs, and documentation, while supporting testing, commissioning, and field support. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of engineering experience in BESS, renewables, power systems, or related areas.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and power electronics.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Experience with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or technical documentation.
• Knowledge of structured problem solving and configuration control.
• Ability to manage deliverables and communicate across teams.
• Willingness to travel ~25%.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to systems engineering for BESS products from requirements through deployment and operation.
• Develop system requirements, ICDs, specifications, and compliance matrices.
• Support integration of energy storage, PCS, safety systems, controls, and related components.
• Review designs, schematics, BOMs; document findings and coordinate resolutions.
• Apply relevant codes and project requirements with guidance from senior engineers.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and manufacturing transition.
• Analyze test/field data and recommend engineering actions.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement of BESS practices.
• Perform vendor evaluations for BESS BOS components.
