Job summary

AES is seeking a Solutions Engineer - Systems Integration to contribute to the electrical, controls, and mechanical integration of battery energy storage systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to support BESS products from requirements to deployment, testing, and field support.

The role emphasizes interface management, safety, reliability, and hands-on validation across project environments.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and power electronics.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Experience in analysis, testing, commissioning, and documentation.
• Strong problem solving and structured approaches to tasks.
• Willingness to travel to factories and project sites (about 25%).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to BESS product development and integration from requirements through deployment.
• Develop and maintain system requirements, ICDs, specifications, and compliance matrices.
• Support integration of energy storage, PCS, safety systems, controls, and related components.
• Review electrical designs, BOMs, and submittals; document findings and coordinate resolutions.
• Apply relevant BESS codes, standards, and project requirements under guidance.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and system validation activities.
• Travel to factories, laboratories, and project sites to support inspections and commissioning.
