Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solutions Engineer - Systems Integration to advance the electrical, controls, and mechanical integration of battery energy storage systems for utility-scale renewables. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional partners from requirements to deployment, ensuring safe and reliable operation across project environments.

Responsibilities include developing ICDs, reviewing designs, and supporting prototype builds, testing, and field support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related.
• 2–4 years in BESS, renewables, power systems, controls, or complex electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical docs.
• Experience with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or documentation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to systems engineering for BESS products from requirements through deployment and operation.
• Develop system requirements, ICDs, specs, compliance matrices, and integration docs.
• Support integration of energy storage, PCS, safety, controls, and balance-of-system.
• Review designs and submittals; document findings and coordinate resolutions.
• Apply BESS standards and project requirements with guidance from senior engineers.
• Support prototype builds, verification, testing, and manufacturing transition.
• Analyze data; document results and suggest actions within scope.
• Travel to factories/sites ~25% to support inspections and testing.
