Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Solutions Engineer - Systems Integration to advance electrical, controls, and mechanical integration for battery energy storage systems on utility-scale projects.

Key responsibilities include developing BESS products, maintaining integration documents, and coordinating across engineering teams. Requires 2–4 years in related fields and willingness to travel ~25% to sites and factories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years in BESS, renewable energy, power systems, controls, or complex electromechanical equipment.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and power electronics.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and BOMs.
• Experience with engineering analysis, testing, commissioning, or documentation.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to BESS product development and integration from requirements definition through deployment.
• Maintain system requirements, ICDs, specifications, compliance matrices, and verification documents.
• Support integration of energy storage, PCS, safety systems, controls, and BOS components.
• Review electrical designs, schematics, BOMs, and coordinate resolutions with responsible parties.
• Support prototype builds, design verification, and system-level validation activities.
• Travel to factories and project sites to support inspections and commissioning.
