Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems across projects nationwide. This role is fully remote; specific location details will be discussed during the interview process.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, review feasibility studies, and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and utility standards to deliver reliable, safe BESS solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years in electrical engineering focused on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Expertise in design, integration, and optimization of BESS including lithium-ion, inverters, BMS, and grid interconnection.
• Strong knowledge of BESS control strategies and optimization software.
• Proficient in power system analysis tools (PSS/E, PSCAD).
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of BESS projects ensuring compliance.
• Review studies, site assessments, and sizing analyses.
• Provide SME guidance across electrical, civil, SCADA, and HV scopes.
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and fire protection teams.
• Support procurement, testing, commissioning, and energization.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated with industry standards.
