Job summary

SOLV Energy in the United States is seeking a Senior Engineer, Construction – BESS to provide high‑level engineering oversight for battery energy storage systems, spanning design, integration, commissioning and warranty activities. This role acts as a technical authority for high‑risk BESS scopes, coordinating Engineers of Record, vendors, and project stakeholders to deliver critical deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required.
• 3-5+ years of progressive electrical engineering/BESS experience with advanced responsibility.
• Strong understanding of BESS design, integration, commissioning interfaces, battery systems, inverters, BMS, EMS, controls, grid interconnection equipment.
• Experience coordinating Engineers of Record, vendors, consultants, AHJs, owners, and internal project teams to resolve complex engineering issues and drive deliverables to completion.
• Familiar with NEC, IEEE, IBC, NFPA 855, UL 9540, UL 9540A, and related project-specific standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as BESS SME for engineering scopes including layout, integration, controls, fire protection, commissioning, and project execution.
• Coordinate Engineers of Record, vendors, consultants, fire protection engineers, AHJs, owners, and project stakeholders for deliverables.
• Review BESS drawings, specifications, technical reports, vendor documentation, commissioning documentation, and related integration deliverables for contract alignment.
• Track BESS engineering action items, review comments, vendor responses, consultant responses, and design revisions through closure across assigned projects.
• Support field questions, resolution of conflicts, and issue resolution for BESS scope.
