Job summary

Upsilon Global is partnering with a rapidly growing Clinical Research Organisation to recruit a seasoned Business Development Director. You will advise, consult, and deliver across key regions in North America, driving full BD lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in BD or sales within CROs or life-sciences services, with a strong network in North American pharma/biotech, and a proven ability to close complex service deals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of senior BD or sales experience in CRO or life-sciences services.
• Ability to manage long, consultative sales cycles and close complex deals.
• Strong understanding of clinical development and CRO outsourcing models.
• Strong network within North American pharma and biotech.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Independent, autonomous work style in a lean growth-stage organization.
• Experience in oncology, rare diseases, imaging, or complex trial designs is a plus.
• Commercial mindset with performance-based incentives.
• Remote-friendly with readiness to engage across North America.

Responsibilities

• Selling full-service Clinical Research Organisation experience.
• Drive new business acquisition across North America (with global reach).
• Own the full BD lifecycle: lead generation, qualification, proposal development, bid defence, and deal closure
• Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers in Clinical Operations, Development, Outsourcing, and Scientific Leadership
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Imaging, and Scientific teams to ensure competitive proposals
• Contact prospective customer / partner companies to explore opportunities and manage negotiations.
• Manage key contractual documents and processes with clients, partners and vendors (CDA's, MSA's, WO's and CO's).
