Job summary

Milwaukee Tool in Brookfield, Wisconsin, is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer – Battery Electronics to lead embedded systems testing and drive electronic design decisions across hardware and firmware teams.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, product development and reliability engineers to advance battery management and power electronics technologies. This role sits at our Brookfield headquarters.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in the Embedded Electronics design field including16/32 bitmicrocontroller-basedcircuits for measurement and power control.
Demonstrated design experience in power management with ultra-low power embedded hardware and firmware implementations.
Strong knowledge of industry best practices for design documentation, circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, and prototype verification testing.
Must be proficient in creation of firmware for purposes of technologyevaluations/investigations.
Proven ability to create a Work Breakdown Structure, drive to completion, and communicate progress and eliminate barrier removal needs to management.
Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with a strong work ethic.
Excellent problem-solvingskills, exercisesindependent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

Lead design, prototype, test and troubleshoot embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
Research and engage with prospective suppliers on selection of new technology including Lithium-Ion Battery Management ASICs, microcontrollers, Power Devices, and other ICs.
Provide expertise and engineering support on high complexity projects.
Demonstrate Milwaukee Tool’s culture of high performance by creating Work Breakdown Structure, driving milestones, and communicating progress to management.
Use laboratory equipment to debug and develop your design with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, ESD/EMC, data acquisition systems, and analysis software.
Communicate and motivate across the organization to a diverse range of team members.
Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for key project metrics.
Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and Milwaukee process.
