Job summary

SmartTech Contracting LLC in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Building Automation Systems Lead Field Technician to install BAS/HVAC controls, direct installers, and coordinate with programmers and clients on project progress. You will support startup, commissioning, testing, and closeout of complex automation projects in data-center environments.

The role requires strong knowledge of HVAC/electrical systems, field leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related discipline.
• Two years of hands-on installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure.
• NFPA70E and OSHA training as required.
• Strong communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Install BAS/HVAC control systems and coordinate installation teams.
• Assist startup, commissioning and verification of system operation.
• Prepare and share project reports and line-of-balance updates.
• Provide input on estimating, takeoffs, and proposals.
