Job summary

Tanium is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on platform development to build and maintain services powering Tanium products. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days per week in Durham, NC, with other locations possible.

You will design, develop and test new product ideas, collaborate with product management and customers for feedback, and deliver high-performance, secure backend services and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 7+ years industry experience, 10+ preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of C++ and backend service design.
• Experience with public cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
• Experience with cryptographic primitives, TLS, PKI.
• Experience with HTTP API design and development.
• Experience with modern software engineering tools (Git, GHA, Jenkins).
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools into software development.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintaining Tanium's servers and client alongside a highly agile development team.
• Focus on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure products are designed the right way from the beginning.
• Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up with input from product management.
