Job summary

Tanium is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain its products within a small, fast-moving team. You’ll work on design, development, testing, and deployment from scratch, with ongoing input from product management and customers to ensure right-first-time outcomes.

The role emphasizes a strong customer engagement model, scalability, and robust data services, all within a hybrid schedule that requires in-office presence at Addison, TX, three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• CS degree preferred.
• 5+ years industry experience, 7+ preferred.
• Experience building large cloud-based data services.
• Knowledge of at least one of Golang, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with API design and development.
• Experience with Azure or AWS Database Services.
• Experience with cloud object storage, such as AWS S3 or Azure Blob Storage.
• Experience designing memory-efficient streaming and multipart data-transfer systems.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Pulumi) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining Tanium's products alongside a highly agile development team.
• Focusing on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning.
• Designing, developing and testing new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input.
