Job summary

Tanium is seeking a Tanium Senior Software Engineer focused on platform development to build and maintain scalable services that power our products. You will work with an agile team and collaborate with product management for feedback from customers.

The role emphasizes a strong customer engagement model, rapid prototyping, and delivering secure, high-performance backend systems. Candidates should have extensive C++ experience and cloud familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• CS Degree or related technical field preferred.
• 7+ years industry experience, 10+ preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of C++.
• Experience designing and building high-performance, secure, scalable, observable, supportable, and maintainable backend services and APIs.
• Experience with public cloud technologies (e.g. AWS or Azure).
• Experience with cryptographic primitives, TLS, PKI.
• Experience with HTTP API design and development.
• Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git, GHA and Jenkins.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools and technologies into software development, including AI-assisted coding and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Tanium's servers and client alongside a highly agile development team.
• Focus on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure products are designed the right way from the beginning.
• Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input.
