Affirm, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a team building an audit-grade ledger platform. You will own the technical strategy and deliver a year-long roadmap, coordinating with product management, design, and analytics to align goals with business needs.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and ensure reliability through monitoring, testing, and triage rotations in a remote-first, US-wide environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building backend systems at scale.
• 2+ years managing engineers.
• Deep experience with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
• Background in financial systems, ledgering, or treasury where accuracy is critical.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering team building an audit-grade ledger platform.
• Own technical strategy and delivery for a year-long roadmap.
• Drive collaboration across product management, design, and analytics.
• Ensure operational excellence with monitoring, triage rotations, and testing.
• Develop engineers through coaching, feedback, and leading by example.
