Job summary

Affirm’s Ledger Engineering team builds an audit-grade ledger platform, enabling scale in a highly regulated financial environment. We seek a senior backend engineer to set technical strategy and drive reliability at scale.

You will collaborate with product, design and analytics, own operations and on-call readiness, and mentor engineers while raising code quality. 8+ years of backend experience with AWS/MySQL/Spark/Kubernetes is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
• Background in financial systems and ledgering preferred.
• Able to define technical strategy and execute plans.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a yearly horizon.
• Collaborate across product, design & analytics to manage risks.
• Own team operations, monitoring and on-call readiness.
• Promote quality through code reviews and design standards.
• Mentor and develop team talent.
