Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience shipping and operating production services at scale.
• Experience building subscription, payments, or commerce systems (recurring billing, entitlements, promos).
• Proficiency in Go or similar backend language with ability to adapt to Go-centric codebase.
• Design and maintain APIs and distributed systems across web and mobile.
• Track record of delivering ambiguous projects with cross-functional partners.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and operation of backend services powering the Coinbase One membership lifecycle, including sign-up flows, subscription management, and recurring payment processing.
• Build scalable platform capabilities for targeted benefit delivery, promotions, and personalized membership experiences across the Coinbase retail app.
• Partner with frontend, product, design, and payments teams to scope, ship, and iterate on customer-facing membership features from concept through production.
• Drive backend architecture decisions for the Coinbase One product area, establishing patterns for reliability and integration with broader Coinbase platform services.
• Improve service reliability, observability, and performance across Coinbase One's backend stack, and resolve production issues proactively.
