Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend for the Coinbase One team.

You will own backend services powering the membership lifecycle, including sign-up, payments, and benefit delivery, while enabling targeted promotions and personalized experiences for millions of customers. You will collaborate with frontend, product, design, and payments teams to shape features end-to-end, improve reliability, and drive architecture decisions across the Coinbase platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience shipping and operating production services at scale.
• Experience building subscription, payments, or commerce systems (recurring billing, entitlements, promotions).
• Proficiency in Go or similar backend language with adaptability to Go-centric codebases.
• API and distributed systems design across web and mobile surfaces.
• Proven ability to scope and deliver ambiguous projects with cross-functional partners.
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflows, with human oversight.
