Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend for the Coinbase One team. You will own the backend services powering the membership lifecycle, including sign-up, subscription management, and recurring payment processing, enabling growth and retention for millions of customers.

Collaborate with frontend, product, design, and payments to scope, ship, and iterate member features from concept through production.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
Experience with subscription, payments, or commerce systems.
Proficiency in Go or a similar backend language.
Ability to design APIs and distributed systems.
Experience taking ambiguous projects through to production with cross-functional partners.
Uses AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

Own backend services for Coinbase One membership lifecycle, incl. sign-up, subscriptions, and payments.
Build scalable capabilities for targeted benefits and promotions across the retail app.
Collaborate with frontend, product, design, and payments to ship membership features end-to-end.
Shape backend architecture for reliability and integration with Coinbase platform services.
Improve reliability, observability, and performance; proactively resolve production issues.
