Humana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and operate stateful services for real-time decisioning and personalization platforms. You will implement explicit state machines, transactional state stores, and idempotent APIs to achieve deterministic, auditable behavior in high-concurrency environments.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted engineering practices, robust observability, and collaboration with platform, data, and quality teams to deliver reliable systems across hybrid/remote work

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 6+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering
• Experience with state machine modeling and lifecycle management
• Experience with transactional state stores
• Idempotent API and workflow design
• Understanding of exactly-once or effectively-once processing

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and operate stateful services for real-time decisioning and personalization
• Develop and enforce explicit state machines for lifecycle transitions
• Build transactional state stores as the single source of truth with high concurrency
• Implement idempotency controls and robust outbox pattern for reliability
• Architect for distributed systems with correct handling of retries, replay, and failures
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance correctness and productivity
• Ensure observability, auditability, and testing for safety and compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor engineers
