Job summary

Verkada is hiring experienced back-end engineers for the Core Command team to scale Auth, Users, Roles, and Audit capabilities for global orgs. You will design scalable control planes, build distributed systems, and spin up new services in a microservices architecture, contributing to a platform used across millions of devices.

The role requires a CS/CE/Software Eng degree, 4+ years of experience, and fluency in Python or Go, plus experience with databases, Redis, Kafka, cloud providers, React,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience building and scaling access systems to millions of users globally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Mastery of Python or Go.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL).
• Experience with key-value stores (Redis, Memcached).
• Experience with distributed queueing (Kafka) and caching (Redis, Memcached).
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with React and GRPC/API specs.
• Willing and able to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable control planes and data primitives for all Verkada products.
• Build scalable distributed systems to handle high traffic from devices worldwide.
• Spin up new services in a microservices architecture.
