Verkada is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Access Control team to lead frontend and backend engineers, driving production-ready features across cloud, web, and edge services. You will guide architecture, performance, and reliability while mentoring a growing team in a highly scalable environment.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Firmware, and Mobile teams to define roadmaps, own major initiatives, and ensure delivery from concept to production with a strong focus on operational

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, Go, or React.
• 1+ year of people management experience.
• Strong software architecture and distributed systems experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend and backend software engineers through coaching and hiring.
• Own delivery for major customer-facing initiatives from concept to production.
• Partner with Product Management, Design, Firmware and Mobile to define roadmaps and drive execution.
• Set technical direction while empowering engineers to make architectural decisions.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence with code reviews and testing.
• Build reliable, observable, and scalable distributed systems powering real-time events.
• Improve engineering processes and team health while maintaining quality.
• Participate in hiring to build an exceptional engineering organization.
