Job summary

Verkada is hiring for a software engineer in San Mateo, CA to join a small, dynamic team building cloud‑managed access control systems. You will work with firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to advance our product line from concept to delivery.

The role emphasizes ownership, autonomy, and delivering end‑to‑end solutions with a strong emphasis on scalable distributed systems and agile development. This is an onsite, five‑day‑a‑week position in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or science.
• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one server programming language (Python, Go).
• Experience in scalable distributed system design, including databases, queues, and blob storage.
• Experience working in an agile team software development environment.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
