Job summary

GoodLeap is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and scale backend services for contractor financial tools, including payments workflows. You will collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable software that reduces friction and gives contractors greater control over their finances.

You will lead architecture, mentor engineers, and champion high standards for security, observability, and system design while delivering measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience, with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Strong system design skills for distributed APIs.
• Excellent communication and leadership mindset.
• Mentoring others and driving code quality.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and evolve scalable APIs and backend services for contractor financial tools.
