GoodLeap is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead the Funding & Payments engineering team, driving architecture, delivery, and operational health of high‑volume fintech systems. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role focusing on scalable, secure, compliant payment flows.

You will mentor managers and engineers, shape multi‑quarter roadmaps, and partner with Product, Risk, and Compliance to align engineering outcomes with business goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in technical leadership.
• Proven track record leading engineering for complex fintech, lending, or payments platforms.
• Deep experience with distributed, event‑driven microservices architectures.
• Experience with underwriting/decisioning systems, loan origination or servicing pipelines, or payments processing infrastructure.
• Strong grasp of cloud‑native architecture (AWS or equivalent), API design, and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Funding & Payments engineering team, with a defined path to expanding ownership.
• Own the architecture and reliability of systems spanning underwriting, funding, and payments processing.
• Guide technical decisions across a distributed services ecosystem, supporting high‑volume transactions.
• Set and enforce engineering standards for security, compliance, and auditability in a regulated environment.
• Champion modern engineering practices to raise team velocity and quality.
