Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Retail DEX) to join the Retail DEX team within the Consumer & Business group. You will build data-driven backends that bridge off-chain and onchain worlds, enabling millions of traders to access assets across multiple blockchains.

You will design robust data systems, work with Kafka/ClickHouse/Redis, and contribute to real-time pipelines with millisecond latency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering with production data systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Integrate new blockchains and DEX components into the Coinbase app to unlock more onchain assets.
• Design and implement onchain contracts for trading primitives to improve execution and capabilities.
• Scale real-time data pipelines to handle high-throughput market data with low latency.
• Optimize the trading stack end-to-end for fastest execution and best asset coverage.
• Develop agentic-first patterns and tooling to accelerate team velocity.
