Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Retail DEX) to join the Retail DEX team within the Consumer & Business group. You will build data-intensive, off-chain/on-chain systems enabling millions of traders to access assets across Base and Solana.

Responsibilities include integrating blockchains, designing onchain primitives, and scaling real-time data pipelines to deliver fast, reliable trading experiences in a high-velocity environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in data systems.
• Experience building data pipelines and data-intensive systems.
• Experience with onchain smart contracts (EVM or Solana).
• Ability to work across off-chain and on-chain components.

Responsibilities

• Integrate blockchains and launchpads into the Coinbase app.
• Design and implement onchain smart contracts for trading primitives.
• Scale real-time data pipelines to handle high message throughput.
• Optimize trading stack for speed, fills, and asset coverage.
• Develop agentic-first patterns to accelerate velocity.
