Job summary

Affirm is hiring a Senior Backend Architect to drive the technical strategy for a high-impact team building the next generation of our ads platform. You will collaborate with product, design, and analytics to ensure scalable, reliable systems that power our marketplace experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Extensive track record of building highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering consumer experiences with React and working in Ad Tech or related platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and align it with business-critical projects.
• Collaborate across product management, design and analytics to ensure sustainability, risks and trade-offs are understood.
• Define and advocate technical solutions and operational processes to improve team efficiency and reliability.
• Own team operations and on-call readiness with monitoring, playbooks, policies and testing in place.
