Elastic is hiring for a hands-on backend software engineer focused on scalable production systems. You will design data models, API contracts and end-to-end features, building internal apps that replace paid tools while ensuring security and observability.

You will work with AI coding agents and maintain code across production boundaries. You will own the lifecycle from design to deployment, influence architecture standards, and collaborate on building shared components like data connectors,

Qualificações

• Senior-level experience designing, shipping and maintaining production backend systems
• Sound judgment about what to build and how to keep a system simple
• Strong API and data design with stable contracts
• Experience integrating with APIs, databases, event streams
• Security-first thinking about authorization and sensitive data
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Java or similar languages

Responsabilidades

• Take an open business problem, decide what to build and what to leave out, and turn it into a clear spec, data model and API contracts
• Build internal applications that replace paid, specialized tools
• Solve common backend challenges: reading data from systems of record efficiently, storing sensitive data securely, enforcing server-side permissions
• Design and evolve shared building blocks: data connectors, authorization, storage, migrations, search and reporting
• Build with AI coding agents in a disciplined, spec-driven process with tests and interface contracts
• Own what you build end-to-end including on-call, releases, maintenance and retirement
