Job summary

Engine is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement greenfield services within a backend-heavy, AI-driven environment. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions while maintaining strong test coverage and observability.

Ideal candidates bring proficiency with AI tools, robust system design experience, and a track record of delivering complex systems end-to-end.

Qualifications

AI fluency with Claude, Cursor or similar tools as main coding interface
Strong system design skills and ability to explain architectural decisions
Proven delivery of complex systems, not just features
Self-directed working style with initiative to drive progress
Comfortable handling ambiguity and unclear scope across teams
Adaptable to changing priorities, especially in lodging vertical
Excellent communication to explain technical problems to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

Drive design and implementation of greenfield services, replacing legacy code with modern microservices
Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to translate requirements into engineering solutions
Use AI tools as primary development environment
