Job summary

Visa is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to join the Financial Accounting Squad, building core backend services in Java and Go on AWS. You will design scalable accounting workflows, implement robust financial processing, and contribute to an event-driven platform that ensures auditability and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with product, accounting, and finance teams while advancing infrastructure as code and automated testing practices in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Go.
• Experience with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, EventBridge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure backend services using Java and Go, deployed on AWS.
• Deliver clean, efficient, testable code aligned with technical strategy and business objectives.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and implement accounting and financial processing solutions ensuring accuracy, traceability, auditability, and compliance.
• Build and evolve event-driven architectures for accounting records, balances, reconciliations, and regulatory outputs.
• Write and maintain automated tests validating both technical and financial correctness.
• Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform, following IaC best practices.
• Monitor critical financial workflows via logs, metrics, alerts, and tracing; resolve issues.
