Central Business Solutions, Inc is staffing backend engineers for a fintech client, seeking a mid-level Java backend engineer for a 6+ month remote engagement in the US. The role targets strong Java, distributed systems, and cloud-native design, with W2 only.

You will work in an AI-first engineering team handling production systems across payment flows, requiring hands-on AWS, Docker, and relational databases like MySQL or Oracle, plus solid documentation and fast learning of new domains.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Java expertise.
• Direct payments industry experience, with deep understanding of financial payment flows and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture, plus Docker and containerized application development.
• Experience designing and owning complex backend systems end to end, from HLD through production verification.
• Experience with MySQL, Oracle, or similar relational databases at scale.
• Proficiency with AI tools like Claude as part of everyday engineering workflow, and picking up new domains and context quickly.
• Strong documentation habits: runbooks, testing guides, and knowledge sharing come naturally.
