Job summary

Affim is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Comms Core) to design and deliver reliable backend services for its communications platform. You will own multi-region, multi-tenant solutions and integrations with external vendors, collaborating with product and security teams to balance reliability, latency, and cost.

You will mentor team members, improve operational resilience, and help shape the engineering roadmap while embracing AI-assisted development tools and modern cloud-native

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development or engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Track record of building highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, DynamoDB, Kubernetes).
• Experience designing multi-region, multi-tenant platforms with strong isolation, scalability and data consistency.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly technical goals for the Communications area.
• Design, implement, and operate backend services for high-volume communications across multi-region, multi-tenant environments.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics, security and engineering teams through the product lifecycle.
• Design, implement and operate integrations with external messaging vendors.
• Define service-level objectives, improve alerting and incident response, and participate in on-call efforts.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to code quality, testing, and deployment standards.
