Affrim is seeking a senior backend engineer to shape multi-region, multi-tenant infrastructure and APIs. You will own quarterly technical goals for Communications, deliver reliable backend services, and collaborate across product, security, analytics and design teams to support high-volume messaging.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of software development with strong system design, expertise in Python or Kotlin, and experience with AWS, MySQL, DynamoDB and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with strong system design.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin or similar.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering multi-region, multi-tenant platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly technical goals for the Communications area.
• Design and evolve reliable backend services for high-volume communications across multi-region, multi-tenant environments.
• Collaborate across product, design, analytics, security and engineering teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Design, implement and operate resilient integrations with external messaging vendors.
• Define service-level objectives, improve alerting and on-call processes.
• Enhance design, testing, code review, rollout and operational standards.
• Mentor teammates and lead by example.
• On-call rotation is required.
