Job summary

Affim is building its advertising platform and search experiences. This role leads backend architecture for a year-long strategy, collaborating with product, design, and analytics to ensure reliability and business impact.

You will own on-call readiness, set design standards, mentor engineers, and help scale distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes, with a remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale and align it with critical, business-impacting projects.
• Collaborate across product management, design & analytics to ensure technical sustainability, risks and trade-offs are understood and managed.
• Act as a force-multiplier for your team through your definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own your team's operations and availability with monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing and alerting for on-call efforts.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards and advocating them beyond your team.
• Develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.
