Job summary

Affim is seeking a senior backend engineer to define and execute a long-term technical strategy for scalable systems. You will collaborate with product, design, and analytics to ensure reliability, performance, and clear trade-offs, while driving on-call readiness and code quality.

You will design and ship highly available services using Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes, and contribute to consumer experiences with modern UI in React.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Python or Kotlin; experience with React a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a yearly horizon.
