Job summary

Crusoe Cloud is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the Core Backend team within Cloud Customer Experience. You will design, build, and scale services powering Crusoe Cloud's AI-first cloud platform, owning the API gateway and entitlement systems while mentoring peers.

You will work across API design, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems, contributing to reliability and performance at scale in a rapidly growing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience, with modern compiled languages (Go, Rust, Java, or C++).
• Experience designing versioned public APIs (gRPC/protobuf, REST) and SDK/CLI surfaces.
• Knowledge of API edge vs backing services (routing, authn/authz, rate limiting).
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, data structures, and microservices.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable services powering the cloud platform's user-facing experiences.
• Own and evolve the API gateway fronting resource management traffic with reliability and scalability.
• Build the notification and eventing backbone with guarantees and user controls.
• Advance quota and entitlement systems to support self-serve requests and fast enforcement.
• Reduce time-to-first-GPU for new customers by hardening onboarding and identity flows.
• Extend resource management layer for new infrastructure offerings and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with product/design to evaluate tools and address customer needs.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong, inclusive engineering culture.
