Job summary

Crusoe Cloud is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build a platform for network tooling that supports edge, backbone, and data center operations and deployment tasks. This role centers on how Crusoe Cloud manages and operates its network infrastructure, providing tooling for deployments, monitoring, and reliable operation at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts: consensus, state reconciliation, fault tolerance, and high availability design.
• Track record of designing and building scalable, reliable APIs or services used by multiple teams.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tooling (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating cross functionally with product, operations, and other engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Network State Management: Design and develop the systems that manage network state for Crusoe Cloud, including provisioning, configuration, topology/routing state, and APIs.
• Scale the control plane to handle increasing network scale, device counts, and infrastructure complexity.
• Mentor fellow engineers and uphold high design and implementation standards.
• Assist in Build vs. Buy decisions, balancing scalability, cost, and speed.
• Partner with product, operations, and other teams to align control plane systems with growth needs.
• Design fault-tolerant, distributed control plane systems for high availability.
• Promote modern software development practices including CI/CD and IaC.
• Take ownership of initiatives from ideation through deployment.
