Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and deliver scalable backend systems and distributed architectures. You will lead design, development, deployment, and operation across onshore and offshore teams, focusing on reliability, performance, and modernization.

You will work with cloud-native patterns, event-driven workflows, and multiple AWS services to evolve the platform while mentoring juniors and ensuring high-quality engineering practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support of complex software systems.
Build scalable, reliable backend services and streaming solutions on AWS.
Own major engineering initiatives from discovery to delivery and production support.
Balance new features with modernization, debt reduction, and reliability improvements.
Provide technical leadership across onshore and offshore teams.
