Job summary
Pearson is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to own architecture, design, and delivery of scalable backend systems. You will lead end-to-end initiatives, drive modernization, and ensure production reliability across distributed teams.
You will collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering leaders across domains to translate business needs into practical technical solutions, while maintaining high-quality, observable systems and documentation.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience leading complex backend initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems and microservices.
- Proficiency in at least one modern language (Java/Go/TypeScript/C#).
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and production support for complex software systems.
- Design and build backend services and event-driven architectures.
