Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to own end-to-end backend workstreams, drive technical decisions within your domain, and mentor engineers. The role focuses on reliable, scalable systems in a healthcare setting where design quality directly impacts care.

You will design robust system prompts, build Databricks data pipelines, collaborate with product teams, and uphold test coverage, observability, and production health across services you own.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production.
• Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores.
• Track record of leading technical work across a team - not just executing it.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks.
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to understand and automate workflows.
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks.
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts.
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own.
