Job summary

Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own complex backend workstreams, drive technical decisions, and mentor engineers. You’ll design and improve systems that support clinical care delivery, ensuring reliability and maintainability in a healthcare setting.

You will collaborate with product teams, build robust ingestion pipelines with Databricks, and lead cross-functional reviews while maintaining high test coverage and observability across services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production.
• Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores.
• Track record of leading technical work across a team.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to understand and automate workflows
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own
