Job summary

Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, designs backend systems powering clinical care delivery and data platforms across the U.S. The Sr Software Engineer will own complex workstreams, shape data models and integration contracts, and mentor engineers in a healthcare context where reliability and quality impact patient care.

You'll design robust prompts for LLM workflows, build ingestion pipelines with Databricks, lead code reviews, and ensure test coverage, observability, and production health

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production
• Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores
• Track record of leading technical work across a team - not just executing it
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to understand and automate workflows
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own
