Job summary

Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to own complex backend workstreams and mentor engineers in a healthcare environment. You will design, implement, and maintain robust services that support clinical care delivery and patient workflows.

Responsibilities include leading technical decisions, ensuring test coverage and observability, and collaborating with product teams to automate critical workflows across Databricks-powered data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production.
• Proficiency building system prompts and AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores.
• Track record of leading technical work across a team.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks.
• Partner with product teams and stakeholders to automate workflows.
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks.
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts.
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own.
