Job summary

Affim’s AI Platform team is hiring a backend engineer to design, build, and operate scalable AI services used by engineers and production workloads. You will own design decisions from pilot to production, ensure secure scaling across millions of transactions, and drive governance for tool access and model usage.

You will work with Python/Kotlin, AWS, and Kubernetes, building LLM gateways and agent runtimes while mentoring teammates and improving code quality.

Qualifications

• You have 4+ years of backend design, development and launch experience at scale.
• You have built highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• You have production experience with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworks.
• You understand how to support AI workloads across disciplines.
• You write clean, extensible code and lead technical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and own backend decisions and projects within the AI Platform team.
• Build gateway, runtime, and evaluation services for AI workloads at scale.
• Implement identity, quota, routing, caching, and failover controls for model/tool adoption.
• Partner with security and product teams to set governance for agentic workloads.
• Create and monitor runbooks, alerts, and on-call health for shipped systems.
• Improve design standards and mentor engineers across the team.
• Leverage AI tools daily to amplify code, reviews, and ops.
