Job summary

Affim is seeking an accomplished backend engineer to design, build, and scale data-heavy, AI-enabled infrastructure. You will own major components from design to production, including gateways, runtimes, and evaluation services that handle millions of user transactions with strong security and reliability.

This role requires hands-on experience with Python or Kotlin, distributed systems, and cloud-native tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Hands-on work with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworks and related APIs.
• Ability to define a technical plan for delivering large features with clear design.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and own technical decisions from design through launch and on-call.
• Build gateway, runtime, and evaluation services handling AI workloads at scale.
• Implement identity, quota, routing, caching, and failover controls for safe model adoption.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and product teams to set guardrails for tool access.
• Create and monitor metrics; own the operational health, runbooks, and on-call processes.
• Promote high standards for code reviews and system design across teams.
